The Testing Process
Testing can be conducted at any time and any place. It involves the collection of blood and/or urine samples to detect the presence of prohibited substances or methods.
Notification
A Doping Control Officer (DCO) will notify you that you have been selected for testing and inform you of your rights and responsibilities.
Reporting to Doping Control Station
You must report immediately to the station. You will be chaperoned from the point of notification until the process is complete.
Sample Collection
You will provide a sample under the direct supervision of a DCO or chaperone of the same gender.
Sealing and Labeling
You will seal your own samples in secure kits and ensure all paperwork is correctly filled out.
Laboratory Analysis
You will be notified of the results in case your sample is positive for doping.
Athlete Rights
- To have a representative and/or interpreter present.
- To request additional information about the sample collection process.
- To request a delay in reporting to the Doping Control Station (DCS) for valid reasons.
- To record comments on the Doping Control Form about the process.
Athlete Responsibilities
- To remain within direct observation of the DCO/chaperone.
- To produce appropriate identification.
- To comply with sample collection procedures.
- To report immediately for testing.
